Funeral service for Mrs. Lula Bell Leverette, 80 of Killeen, TX will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2026, 10:00 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church in Killeen, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX at 12:00 p.m.

Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service (9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.) at the church.

Lula Bell Leverette also known as "Easter" of Killeen, Texas, transitioned peacefully to be with the Lord August 15, 2026 at Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights, TX. Lula was born April 21, 1946 and raised in Upatoi, GA and was the daughter of the Late Dorothy Boynton Kimbrough and Johnnie Kimbrough.

Lula accepted the Lord at an early age and was a member of County Line Baptist Church in Upatoi, GA, where she sung in the choir. She also served as a Sunday school teacher in her early years. Lula then became a member of Westside Baptist Church where she attended Sunday school, bible study, and prayer when she could. Lula was cherished as a daughter, a mother, a sister, a grandmother, and a lovable friend

Lula graduated Class of 1964 from Carver High School in Columbus, GA.

She graduated from Columbus Technical College, where she received her Nursing Assistant license and graduated from Central Texas College as a Medical Records Specialist. Lula also received her license as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Lula worked many years in the medical field at Columbus Medical Center. Lula continued working for home health care caring for her elderly patients until she became disabled. Lula also worked in the in the childcare field as a teacher for several years.

Lula enjoyed going to church, traveling, joy riding, eating, dancing, water aerobics, getting her hair and nails done in her spare time. She also enjoyed spending time with her family; her devoted granddaughter, Sedavia also known as "Pumpkin"; and her longtime friends Eliza, Shirley, Carolyn, and Tina

Lula is preceded in death by her parents the Late Dorothy and Johnnie Kimbrough, her Late husband Jimmie Leverette; Two sisters: Roberta Jackson and Dora Carter; one brother John Wesley Kimbrough: Three granddaughters: Carrington Leverette, Jalyssa Leverette, and Anisha Williams Brown: Six brothers-in-law: Grady Carter, Lee Leverette, Tyrone Story, James Moore, Nathaniel Leverette, and Robert Leverette Jr.

Survivors include her three sons, Vincent Williams (Funeka) of Atlanta, GA, Jimmy Leverette (Sharon) of Fairburn, GA, and James Leverette (Almena) of Houston, TX; two daughters, Antia Alexander (Joe) of Killeen, TX, and Dorothy Ross of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Martha Moore of Madison, IN, and Catherine Story of Columbus, GA; two sisters-in-law,

Jean Leverette of Atlanta, GA, and Toni Kimbrough of Chula Vista, CA: 28 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
