Mrs. Jean Alloway

Funeral service for Mrs. Jean Alloway, 95 of Killeen, TX will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2026, 12:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX at 2:00 p.m.

Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service (11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.

Jean Alloway was born in Troy, Alabama, in 1931 and peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on August 17, 2026, at the age of 95. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, unconditional love, hard work, and devotion to her family.

As the devoted wife of Moses Alloway, Jean proudly embraced the life of a military wife, supporting her husband throughout his military career with strength, resilience, and grace. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. Moses preceded her in death.

For more than 60 years, Jean proudly called Killeen, Texas home. She dedicated 38 years of faithful service to the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), where she was known for her strong work ethic, kind spirit, and commitment to serving others.

Above all else, Jean loved the Lord. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every joy and every challenge. She found great happiness in spending time with her family, celebrating life’s milestones, and sharing her love with those around her.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Alloway; her son, John Alloway; and her cherished granddaughter, Melinda Ranford.

She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Juliet Bullock and Marilyn Griggs. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Eric Alloway, David Alloway, Brian Bullock, Anthony Alloway, and Cynthia Griggs. Though Melinda Ranford preceded her in death, she remained a treasured part of Jean’s family and legacy. Each of her grandchildren carries forward the values of faith, strength, and love that she instilled throughout her life.

The words of the Apostle Paul beautifully reflect the life Jean lived:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7

Jean truly lived a life well lived. She loved deeply, served faithfully, and remained steadfast in her walk with the Lord. While her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, her family rejoices in the promise that she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior, reunited with those who went before her.

Her legacy of faith, love, kindness, and perseverance will continue to live on through her family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
