Obituary

In Loving Memory of Pastor (Brother) Travis W. Sullivan

Travis W. Sullivan, age 81, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, pastor, and faithful servant of the Lord. He will be remembered for his love for Jesus Christ, his deep devotion to his family, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those who knew and loved him.

Travis loved the Lord with all his heart, and his faith was an important part of his life. He served as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Killeen, Texas, for 31 years, where he shared the Gospel, strengthened the faith of others, and devoted himself to serving God and his community. His love for Jesus was a defining part of who he was, and the legacy of his faith will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.

Travis also proudly served in the United States Army as a E-5 from 1967 to 1981. His years of military service were another important chapter in his life, reflecting his commitment to serving others. His dedication to his country, his faith, and his family helped shape the legacy he leaves behind.

Above all, Travis loved his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Frances Sullivan, and a proud father to his children: Eric (Rachael), Aaron(Julie), Tonya (Jimmy), Barry(Whitney), Gidget, Jessica(Billy), Danielle (Corey), Angie (Jose), Vanessa, Lissette (Luke), Johnny (Cassandra), Livette, Alyssa, Chris (Dana), Lynette (Glenn) and Kelly. His family was a precious part of his life, and he leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.

One of the most meaningful parts of Travis’s life was his dedication to foster parenting. For approximately 25 years, he and Janet Sullivan opened their hearts and home to children in need, providing care, love, guidance, and a place to feel safe and valued. Through those many years, they touched countless lives and made a lasting difference in the lives of children and families. Their willingness to give of themselves was a beautiful reflection of the compassion and love that Travis carried in his heart. The impact of this service will continue through the many lives made better because of their kindness and dedication.

Travis also had a love for hunting, a pastime that brought him joy and became another treasured part of his life’s story. Whether spending time with family, serving the Lord, helping children through foster parenting, or enjoying the outdoors, he created memories that his loved ones will treasure for years to come.

Travis was preceded in death by his parents, Mutt and Velma Sullivan, and his brothers, Buddy Sullivan and Reggie Sullivan. He is survived by his beloved wife, Frances Sullivan; his children and their families; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Charlotte, Bobby, and Keith; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Though his passing leaves a space that can never truly be filled, the love he gave, the faith he lived by, and the memories he created will remain with his family forever. His life was a testimony to the importance of faith, family, compassion, and love. Through his years of ministry, military service, and foster parenting, Travis made a difference in ways that reached far beyond his own home. The lessons he shared and the example he set will continue to guide the generations who follow him.

As his family grieves this tremendous loss, they can find comfort in the faith Travis cherished so deeply and in the hope and promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. His life was one of service—to his country, to his church, to children in need, and to the family he loved so dearly. While he will be deeply missed here on earth, his loved ones can take comfort in knowing that his influence will live on in every life he touched.

Rest peacefully, Pawpaw. Thank you for the faith you shared, the love you gave, the children you helped, and the beautiful legacy you leave behind. Your life made a difference, your love will never be forgotten, and your memory will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Until we meet again, may you rest in the loving arms of Jesus.
