Kevin Lamont Thomas was born on Monday, May 29th 1969, to Karen and Silverster Thomas. He transitioned from this life into eternity on August 18, 2026. He was preceded from this life to the next by his father, Sylvester; grandmother Evelyn (Bumba); brother Michael (Mikey); aunt Angela (Angie); and uncles Perry, Kenneth (AL), and Robert (Bobby).
Kevin, or Money C, as he was often affectionately called, was a native of Chicago, Illinois, until relocating to Houston by way of Katy, and then later moving to Waco, Texas, to be closer to his immediate family. Family should have been Kevin’s middle name as he spent much time sharing and pouring himself into his ex-spouses, children, siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and endless extended family, friends, colleagues, and communities. And the apple of his eye, his mother Karen.
Kevin leaves to continue his legacy financially, culturally, and educationally, his children: Tatiana “TOT” (Lerad), Michael Thomas Jr. “Lil Mike”, Jasmine “Jazz”, Markia “Sugamama”, Warnell “Flood”, LaBaltiara “Balti” (Brian); his mother, Karen White; sisters, Maria “RE”, Rhonda “Bucky”, his brother, Joseph “Joey”; grandchildren, Lariah, Dalia-Kyvon, Emery, Nova, Kymora, DaNyia; nieces and nephews, Cojoya, Jade, Jamal, Major, Yamir, Kyden, Dantrell; and his aunt Linda (Tony), uncle Ade, with an additional host of cousins, friends, colleagues, and community members that will all have a memory to share at every gathering, party, event, social media post, and the like.
Kevin was a great man, a leader among men. He was a Father and Grandpa, who loved, guided, provided, and protected. He was a Son who honored and submitted to the authority of the family order. A brother who understood his role as the keeper of his siblings, Uncle that covered with wisdom, Kevin was a nephew who honored his relationships with his aunts and uncles, he was a cousin who always checked in, a friend who knew loyalty, and a neighbor who embraced community. Kevin was a certified Barber and attended Coyne to earn his Electrical Technician and worked his way to Journeyman. And such a good DJ.
All of this was possible because of the God he served. It was his Heavenly Father who transferred the agape love from Him to Kevin. This was the love that we all felt sincerely from the heart of Kevin. These bits of love that we share will continue to spread the love that Kevin so freely gave to each one of us.
