Funeral services for Mother Juanita Winkfield, 94 of Killeen, TX will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Deliverance and Praise Church of God in Christ in Harker Heights, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Killeen City Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) at the church.

On March 5, 2022, in Copperas Cove, Texas, Mother Juanita Winkfield passed on to her heavenly home at the age of 94.

Born November 16, 1927, in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Lonzo and Patsy Walker, who had 14 children and later moved to Texas.

On October 14, 1950, Juanita married Morris Winkfield in Belton, Texas. To this union, four boys and two girls were born.

Mother Winkfield accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age. She was saved and filled with the precious Holy Ghost; she was a prayer warrior. She attended Massey Memorial Church for many years, where she taught Sunday school. She later moved to Killeen, TX and several years after being in Killeen she decided to move her membership to Zion Temple on Ann Blvd under the leadership of Elder Edward Billie. She was a present member of the Cathedral of Deliverance and Praise COGIC in Harker Heights, TX under the leadership of Bishop A. LaDell Thomas, Jr., where she was a faithful servant until her health started to deteriorate. Her favorite song was "Blessed that Wonderful name of Jesus".

Momma will be missed by all those lives she touched with her smile, her listening ears, and her power-packed prayers. She devoted her life to helping others and helping them to get to know Jesus. She was always there to extend her hands to the needy.

Her passion for the word was evident in her life, what she said, how she did things, and her strong belief that God will always see you through. "Let not your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me." (John 14:1)

She leaves to cherish her memories: her sons, William M. Winkfield (Patricia) of Giddings, TX, Thomas E. Winkfield (Helen) of Killeen, TX; daughters, Jaunice Winkfield of Killeen, TX, and Doris A. Johnson (Jeremiah) of Killeen Texas; brothers, Timothy Walker (Mary) of San Diego, CA, Melvin Walker of Los Angeles, CA, Isaac Walker (Betty) of Los Angeles, CA, Isiah Walker (Devona) of Lancaster, CA, and  Henry Walker of Los Angeles, CA; twenty four grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Morris Winkfield; her parents, Lonzo and Patsy Walker; sons, Charles Scroggins, Clifton G. Winkfield, and Jerry L. Winkfield; two brothers, Leroy Walker, and Arthur Walker; and her two sisters, Geneva Brookins, and Edna M. Ruben.
