Obituary

Memorial service for Ms. Mi'CHA'el Ricardonique Zanders, 30 of Killeen, TX will be held Friday, August 27, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Grace Christian Center in Killeen, TX. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Ms. Zanders passed away August 7, 2021 in Temple, TX. She was born May 8, 1991 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Mi'CHA'el Ricardonique Zanders was born May 8, 1991 to Michael and Patria Zanders.  God decided to embrace her as one of his angels on August 7, 2021.

Mi'CHA'el was a kindergarten, first, and third grade teacher at Clear Creek Elementary located in Killeen, TX.  She graduated E.E. Smith High School located in Fayetteville, NC. (2009). She attended Winston-Salem State University (Winston-Salem, NC), Houston Baptist University (Houston, TX).  She received her Bachelors of Arts in English from Texas A&M (Killeen, TX), and Masters of Education from Concordia University (Texas).

Throughout the years, Mi'CHA'el displayed great athletics as a ballet dancer, cheerleader, and gymnast bringing much encouragement to the football players on the field, basketball players on the court, and the many fans in the stands from the time she was in elementary school to the time she was in college.

Many of you who have had the privilege to meet Mi'CHA'el may remember her by one of the following nicknames: Cha, Mickey, or Micasita.  It all depended on the stage in life when you met her or just maybe how close you were to her to which nickname she was going to give you that day.  Some of which will remain anonymous.  Mi'CHA'el made our lives a lot brighter because of her passion for people and life itself.  She had the knack to joke around when you needed to smile, put you in your place when needed, lend an ear when you needed a friend to listen, and gave sensible advice.

She loved her family, friends, fostering kids (2018-2021), music, dancing, "Dezul" (The Family Rottweiler), and teaching our future leaders.  She is survived by Patria (mother), Michael (father), Michael II (brother), and preceded by Patria (sister/angel in heaven).  She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she has touched!
