Was born on February 25, 1962 to the union of the (late) Marshall Jr. and (late) Cleo Flagg Holloway in Chicago, IL.  He confessed in Christ at an early age, was baptized, and joined the Holy Sanctuary Community Church under the leadership of the Reverend Grafton Bowers.

Michael enlisted in the US Army in 1982 as a Combat Medic and served for over 14 years in various medical related roles (in Korea, Germany, Washington DC, Louisiana, California, and Texas).

In 1996, he transitioned from military service to the United States Postal Service, working a total of 21 years before retiring. Among his most prized professional achievements was serving as a: vice president of the Texas Postal Workers Union District 6 and president of the American Postal Workers Union Central Texas Area Local 4969, chairperson for voter registration in the Bell County Democratic Party, coach for youth baseball, soccer and football, and lifetime member of the Killen chapter of the NAACP.

Like his mom, Big Mike, was truly a "people person," blessed with the gifts of love and laughter. He consistently went above and beyond the call of duty for all of his friends, family, and even casual acquaintances. He was always there in times of need and to help. To him, everyone was family! He befriended each person he met; no one was a stranger to, Big Mike.  He had a big heart, sweet spirit, and touched many lives with kindness and love!

In 1984, Michael married Diane Wallace and to this union, two children were born, Michael Jr, and Jordan.

He departed this life on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 2:13pm at Advent Hospital.

Preceded by both parents - Marshall and Cleo Holloway, and sister - Debbie (Jimmy), he leaves to cherish his loving memory: his beloved wife – Diane; two sons – Michael Jr and Jordan; brothers – Bruce (Delores), Stanley (Lillian), Darryl (Victoria) and Marlon (Charree); sister –Marsha (Thomas – Deceased), and God-sister - Robin (Darryl); four grandchildren – Michael (Michael Jr and Tuveesha), Jordan Jr and Janet (Jordan and Kenyatiah), and Ryan (Jordan and Rodie); special sister-in-law – Tanya Sharpe; and, a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
