Mia Michelle Griffin was born on May 27, 2008, to parents Wardrick and LaTasha Griffin in Huntsville, AL. She passed away May 23, 2026, in Temple, TX.

As a military child, Mia has attended schools in Philadelphia, Georgia, Kentucky, Utah, and Texas. She was an excited member of the graduating class of 2026 at Harker Heights High School. She was preparing to enter Prairie View A&M University in August, and she recently received her State of Texas license for Cosmetology.

Mia was a bright, loving soul who brought warmth, determination, and joy everywhere she went. She had a beautiful spirit and a quiet confidence that made people naturally gravitate toward her. Whether you knew her closely or simply crossed paths with her, Mia left an impression through her kindness, her smile, and the way she carried herself. Mia was hardworking, focused, and driven, but she was also humble and caring.

As a student-athlete, she gave her all both on the track and in the classroom. She believed in showing up, staying committed, and pushing herself to do her best. She handled challenges with strength and maturity beyond her years, and she inspired so many people just by being herself. One thing Mia truly enjoyed was experiencing the world. She was well-traveled and loved making memories with the people she loved most. From tropical beaches to new cities and family adventures, travel became a special part of her life. It helped shape her open mind, adventurous spirit, and appreciation for different cultures, experiences, and people. Mia had a way of bringing light into every space she entered. She encouraged others, supported her friends and teammates, and had a caring heart that people will never forget. She made people feel comfortable, valued, and seen without even trying.

Mia loved to excel at anything she did. Doing hair and hanging out with friends, especially the KISD 2026 Seniors, was a top priority. She enjoyed debating her point, eating well, spending money, going on road trips, the excitement of travel days, and celebrating life.

More than anything, Mia would want to be remembered for the love she gave, the way she treated people, and the memories she created with those around her. Her life, though far too short, was full of purpose, laughter, determination, and love. The impact Mia made will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, teammates, teachers, and everyone blessed to know her. Her memory will forever travel with us in the stories we tell, the lessons she taught us, and the moments we shared together.
