Our dear mother, wife, sister, and friend, Mercy, was born on the 13th of April 1989 at Mankranso-Kunsu in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, to Mr. Emmanuel Darkwah and Madam Cecilia Addai. Being the beautiful last baby of her parents, the family endearingly called her Maafia. Later in the adult life, she would refer to herself as Obaapa Afia, which got accepted and used by many. The young Mercy was baptized into hte Methodist Church in her infancy. She started elementary and junior high school education at Holiness International in Kunsu, and continued to Phillips Senior High and Commercial School at Bantama, Kumasi. After completion of her high school education, she worked briefly as a salesperson.
As a beautiful, social, and friendly, and loving person, it did not surprise most when the watchful eyes of Mr. Michael Duah Amoako zoomed in on her. He swept her off her feet with love and they soon got married. Their beautiful marriage was blessed with three beautiful children. Mercy was well known for her extremely hardworking and industrious nature. Her characteristic dedication to her work attracted the admiration of both her colleges and supervisors. Mercy joined her husband in the United States where she settled into the busy and unpredictable life of a military spouse. She carried this duty with such passion, hosting her husband's colleagues on countless occasions, including send-off parties.
Mercy worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Georgia and Texas, where she took pride in caring for her patients and looking out for her colleagues when it comes to discharging her duties at work. On the occasion of your passing away at the rather young age of 33, we your loved ones naturally feel sad, but we find consolation in the fact that God granted us life experiences with you, and you are going back to your heavenly Father. We salute you for having been such a wonderful and dependable wife, mother, daughter, and friend. We love you and will always cherish your memory. We thank God for such an irreplaceable person. Although you are not with us anymore, you nevertheless remain deep within our hearts. Rest In Peace and may light perpetual shine upon you, till we meet again.
