Funeral Service for Mrs. Mary Ella Terrell, 88 of Copperas Cove, TX will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Christian House of Prayer Copperas Cove Campus in Copperas Cove, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Killeen Memorial Park Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Mary Ella Floyd was born November 26, 1937, in Illinois, to Elihu & Clara Floyd. She was the sixth child of eight siblings. She grew up in the Chicago area and attended various schools. Mary was united in marriage to the late Marvin Terrell. Within this union, they raised two daughters, Marsha and Donna, with love.

Mary attended Harold Washington Business College in Chicago, Illinois, where she received her Certification in Administration. She worked at various businesses as an Administrative Assistant. Later, she would be employed at IBM Science and Research Education Department as a Test Scorer. Mary taught at Blair Elementary School, in Madison County, as a Title I Teacher's Aide. She also worked at The Urban League, and as an Energy Technician, amongst other duties.

Her life journey would lead her to Jesus Christ as a youth. She rededicated her life in 1981, at the Bibleway Holiness Church in Illinois. As time passed, she was led to relocate to the Texas area where her daughter resided. Because she always believed in blooming where she was planted, she joined the Christian House of Prayer on June 23, 1991.

It is at the Christian House of Prayer where God truly began to show himself strong unto her in a new way. Her faith increased the more she heard the word and applied it to her life. Mary served in various auxiliaries over the years including, but not limited to, the Children's Church Ministry, Door Greeter, This & That Thrift store, and The Refuge Corp. She also served as a volunteer Receptionist at (CCI) Covenant Connections International, Hospitality Ministry, and Super Saints Auxiliary.

Upon arriving in the Texas area Mary was employed at numerous businesses, including Texas Workforce Commission, Coryell County Family Outreach, (CCISD) Copperas Cove Independent School District as a Substitute Teacher, and at the Sunshine Exchange Home as an Administration Secretary. Mary gave her service to the Red Cross during the Hurricane Katrina disaster. She lived a life of service to others as a compassionate, committed Christian who touched the hearts of many.

Mary led a well-lived life. Now, as this chapter is closed, she always believed that her works would follow her. According to Revelations 14:13, she leaves a legacy of faith to her family and friends. Her favorite scripture is Romans 4:21 "And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able to also to perform".

She is preceded in death by her parents Elihu & Clara Floyd, her husband Marvin Terrell, her one brother Aldridge Floyd, and sisters Joycelle Lewis, Minyon Wellmaker, Barbara Story and Shirley Russell.

Her memory lives on through sisters: Rosetta Matthews of Venice, Illinois, and Professor Gail Howard of Chicago, Illinois. Mary leaves to rejoice in her memory: her daughters, Marsha White of Copperas Cove, TX, Donna Floyd of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Candace of New York, Marshall of Copperas Cove, TX, Monica of Addison, TX, Koye of Richmond, TX, and Angelika of Copperas Cove, TX; great grandchildren, Jaden, Leilani, James, Kalani, and Kobe, all of Texas, and a host of many other relatives and friends from other states.
