Obituary

Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Joyce Reeves 66 of Hutto, TX will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.

Mary Joyce Reeves was born to Lee Curtis Tuck and Willie Mildred Tuck on January 13, 1957 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her husband and children on January 2, 2024, at Medical City Hospital in Plano, Texas.

In 1979 Mary met Branson Reeves Sr. and they married on March 15, 1980 in the home of Mary's dear Aunt Dolly. They built a beautiful life together and shared numerous cherished  memories while raising their two children.

Mary was a pillar in the city of Killeen, TX as she dedicated years pouring into the lives of young children in her home daycare. She was a skilled professional that committed time to become a phlebotomist and eventually matriculated to receive her Associates Degree in Biology from Temple College. Her dedicated career spanned over 20 years.

Her steadfast commitment to her profession paled in comparison to her lovingkindness and exceptional faithfulness as a mother, grandmother, friend and co-worker. Her warm touch has left an indelible mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her, and her absence will be deeply felt.

She is preceded in death by her father Lee Curtis Tuck Sr., her mother Willie Mildred Tuck, her sisters Laverne Tuck, Annie Jean Tuck Spearman, and brother Lee Curtis Tuck Jr. She leaves to treasure her memory her husband, Branson Reeves Sr., son Branson Jr., daughter Tara, daughter-in-law Nadine and grandchildren Si'Mya, Branson III, Brooklyn, Brielle, and Braxtyn Reeves, along with siblings Ruth Tuck, Linda Tuck, Carl Tuck and David Tuck. Mary also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends near and far.
