Memorial service for Ms. Marquita S. Westmoreland 37, of Harker Heights, Texas will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021, 2:00 p.m., at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Ms. Westmoreland passed away August 17, 2021, in Harker Heights, Texas.

Marquita S. Westmoreland was born October 19, 1983, in Tupelo, MS to parents Sherry Westmoreland and Gwendolyn Lyles. She graduated from Tupelo High School in 2002.

Marquita moved to Texas in 2003. She worked at MARC Telecommunications in Killeen, TX, as a Customer Service Representative, Convergys Telecommunication in Killeen, TX, as a Customer Service Representative, and Nextel/Sprint call center in Temple, TX, as a Collections Specialist and there she became a Senior Collections Specialist and a Subject Matter Expert. She was presently employed at Extraco Bank in Temple, TX where she was a Banking Customer Relations Specialist.

Marquita had a warm and loving personality and was also known to be matter-of-factly.  She was a constant professional when it came to her job and was a joy to her family, friends, and work colleagues. She loved and doated on her mother and did her best to show it whenever she could.  She loved hanging out with her friends, and was adventurous, for she had goals of traveling and had recently traveled to Chicago to see sites of the "Windy City."

She leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Gwendolyn Vinyard (Alexander) of Killeen, TX; father, Sherry (Bo), (Yolanda) Westmoreland of Tupelo, MS; grandfather, Willie Joe Simmons of Houston, MS.; brothers, Anson G. Lyles (Keshia) of Evanston, IL, and Adyn Westmoreland of Tupelo, MS; sister, Veronica Brandon of Amory, MS; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
