Mrs. Maria Hortencia Hernandez-Baptiste was born June 15, 1959, in San Juan, TX. After a long battle with colon cancer, our dear mother, went home to be with Jesus on February 23, 2025, at 12:22 pm, at the age of 65. She was a longstanding member of First Assembly of God in Harker Heights.

Maria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She loved her family fiercely, including her beloved chihuahua Aries. She loved having us all together, loving and bickering, for the holidays and the occasional barbecue. She was an active member in the church participating in events, potlucks, and women's ministry. She enjoyed traveling adventures and tending plants with her Old Lady Gang, playing games with family, and beating everyone in bowling. To know Maria, was to know and be loved. And she loved Jesus above all else, making sure everyone knew about Him and His love for each of us. It was apparent not only in her cross jewelry, and Jesus shirts, but in her attitude and zeal for life. It was apparent until her very last days here on earth where she was expectant upon the Lord, ready to rejoice in Heaven with all those she loved who had passed on before her. She was a generous woman who tithed no matter what and gave to anyone in need; she was a truly selfless woman.

She is survived by: her loving husband Kennedy; daughter, Maria (Marcellous); son, Isaac (Amarillys); daughters Ana and Arianna; son, Judah; grandsons, Jovan, Antjuan, Aveon, Marcus, Isiah; granddaughter, Anise, and many more loved and loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Minerva; and brother, Valentin.
