Memorial service for Mrs. Margaret Ann Bessard, 83, of Killeen, TX will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial will follow the service at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Margaret Ann Bessard, 83, was born on June 27, 1940, in Lake Arthur, Louisiana to Helen Charles and Wardell Chaney. A native of Port Arthur, Texas. She married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Thomas Bessard and they began their military life traveling abroad. She passed away March 21, 2024, in Killeen, TX.

Margaret worked for the Killeen Independent School District for over 30 years. She volunteered at the Lions Club and loved bowling. She was a member and usher at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church.

Margaret leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Tracy Bessard Wilcher of Killeen, TX; son, Anthony Bessard of Killeen, TX; five grandchildren, Malcolm Ray Bessard, Tristan Bessard, Jasmine Bessard, Suriya Bessard, Victoria Bessard; she also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Helen Charles and Wardell Chaney; sister, Genevieve Chaney Singleton; and brother, Jerry Wardell Chaney Sr.
