Funeral service for Mrs. Maggie Ann Gill, 80 of Killeen, TX will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024, 12:00 p.m. at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Killeen, TX. Viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the church.

Burial will be held Monday, December 2, 2024, 9:00 a.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Mrs. Gill passed away November 16, 2024, in Temple, TX. She was born July 5, 1944, in Itasca, TX.

Maggie Ann Gill was born in Itasca, Texas, Hill County on July 5, 1944, to the parentage of Frank and Verna (Monroe) Phillips. Maggie was the second child of six girls and two boys. Maggie attended and graduated from Sanford School in Itasca, TX.

Around the time of 1978 Maggie pursued a career in nursing; she attended and graduated from Hill County School of Nursing where she eventually became an LVN. Upon having achieved LVN status, Maggie broadened her nursing experience while working at the Hill Country Hospital. Maggie continued to broaden her nursing experience while faithfully serving patients at Town Hall Nursing Estate in Whitney, TX.

Maggie's career continued at Killeen Nursing Center, Bell Haven Nursing Facility, and she also worked for Home Health Care Services. She was truly a dedicated nurse who consistently received recognition for the excellent manner she cared for her patients.

Maggie accepted Christ at an early age. In 1988 while serving as a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E.C (African Methodist Episcopal Church), Maggie met and later married Minister Gill. Upon having met and married the love of her life, Donald; Maggie moved to Killeen, TX where she continued to pursue both her Christian and Nursing experience.

Shortly after having moved to Killeen, Maggie became a member of Marlboro Heights Missionary Baptist Church. After the death of Pastor Abercrombie, Maggie became a member of Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church. As her faith grew, she became an active server in the church, she worked as a Sunday school teacher, Bible School Teacher, and a Women's Missionary-1 Teacher. She was also an active member of the Women's Mission Group-1 of the Good Hope Western General Association. Maggie was also a devoted and faithful member of the Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church Choir. Maggie loved her gospel music and the study of God's word. She was an active and faithful member of the bible study fellowship which met weekly at First Baptist Church in Killeen, TX.

Maggie held strong convictions and was deeply committed to serving her Lord and savior Jesus Christ Maggie was a devoted wife, mother and friend. Maggie had a real passion for animals (cats excluded) 😊.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Verna Phillips, daughter Donna Williams, and sister Annie Laura Phillips.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Donald; son Eric; four sisters Joan, Patra, Mae, and Rosiland; two brothers Alex and Tom; daughter-in-law Berita; five grandchildren; thirteen greatgrandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
