Memorial service for Mrs. Lucille Thompson Mack, 92 of Killeen, TX will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Killeen, TX. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

TODAY we celebrate the life of Lucille Thompson Mack, a wonderful mother, God-fearing woman who transitioned from earth to life external on Monday, December 6, 2021. Her spirit, faith, and hope remained strong, serene, and filled with dignity and grace, the signatures of her life.

LUCILLE was born June 16, 1929, in Louisville, Kentucky to Reverend Charles H. Thompson and Annie Mae Thompson, both of whom passed away early in her life. She was raised by her aunt, Effie Lancaster (deceased). She attended school in Louisville, graduating from Central High School.

AT an early age, she confessed Christ at Bethel Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Reverend Lancaster (deceased). She later joined Joshua Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Snordon (deceased).

UPON marrying Harold Mack (deceased) she embarked upon travels throughout the United States, Europe, and later residing in Killeen, Texas.

SHE was very active in the community volunteering throughout her life starting as a candy striper in Louisville, Kentucky. Of her many hobbies, she loved volunteering her time to serve and work with others the most, which is evident by the numerous accolades, letters, and certificates of appreciation she received.

SHE served as the President of Killeen Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) 1991 and President of the Elite "500" Social Club. Additionally, she served as a member of the Order of the Golden Circle and the Ebony Cultural Club.

SHE retired from the Darnell Army Community Hospital, Fort Hood, TX in 2007 as a Nursing Assistant.

LUCILLE was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Charles H. Thompson, and Annie Mae Thompson; aunt, Effie Lancaster; siblings, Jennie Mae Bell and Naomi Norris; niece, Annie Lee Knox; nephew, George Bell Jr.; and granddaughter, Malana Brown. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her brother, Henry Lancaster (Brenda); her children, Gerald Mack (Paris), Carolyn Mack and Harold Mack (Amy); grandchildren, Kimberly Mack, Aylesha Mack, Gerald Mack II, Evan Pinkston, Jozlin Herbst, and Alexes Herbst, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and devoted friends.
