Mrs. Burnett passed away August 9, 2021, in Nolanville, Texas.
On Sunday Evening, August 8th, 2021, Minister Lisa Reneé Fox Burnett called home into the presence of her Lord. Lisa was born in St Louis, Missouri on May 18 th , 1968. She graduated from Castle Park High School and was a part of The Letterettes and "The Tribune of Pep!" She continued her education at St. Phillips College, San Antonio, Texas and received her Associates Degree in Accounting. She accepted the Lord as her Savior at a young age and always had a drawing towards the deeper things of God. Lisa joined The Army, November of 1986 and served for 6 years, 6 months, and 26 days. While in service, the passed by a fellow soldier in a stairwell that she couldn't take her eyes off of. Fast forward, in 1990, she married the love of her life, Dervon Wayne Burnett. They traveled from Germany to San Antonio, to Fort Hood, to Fort Gordon, to finally back here to Fort Hood.
Lisa served her country faithfully but served her Lord and Savior even greater. In her walk with the Lord, she was a part of some wonderful ministries, where they were stationed. At each place, her faith became stronger and the Word of God became the subject of her conversations. In 2017, after an ordained meeting with Pastor Charles at Cheddar's, she and her family connected and became faithful Citizens at Kingdom Life Church. She continued growing in her spiritual walk with the Lord and served in the Kingdom Royal Dance Ministry, worked as a Facilitator, and was a Minister of the Gospel. She was very deliberate in her speaking about the Word and was always found in a class or a teaching moment in and out of the church. She would never say that she was "ministering," she would always say that she was simply "sharing!" You can best believe that she "shared" every chance she got! Even during the pandemic, you would see her online encouraging and sharing her faith whenever she could. Our comfort is knowing that she has completed her assignment and is now in the presence of her King.
Lisa leaves to cherish her memory; her husband of 31 years, Dervon Wayne; her son, Dervon Wayne, Jr.; her daughter, Chani Lorena; her parents, Larry and Jacqueline Fox; her mother-in-law, Evangelist Lorena Burnett; her brothers, Maurice (Robin) Fox and Larry Fox; her brothers-in-law, Royce Burnett, Jr., Mark Burnett, James (Felicia) Burnett, Aaron Burnett, and O'Brian Burnett; a sister-in-law, Brandy (Rodney) Collins, and a host of relatives and friends!
