Funeral service for Mrs. Linda Christeen Edwards, 72 of Killeen, TX will be held Monday, July 27, 2026, 1:00 p.m. at Pershing Park Baptist Church in Killeen, TX. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service (12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.) at the church.

Burial will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2026, 12:00 p.m. at the Carroll Cemetery in Shelbyville, TX.

On July 17, 2026, God sent an angel for the loving spirit of Mrs. Linda Christeen Edwards; Affectionately known as Chris. Sunrise was February 14, 1954, to the parentage of Mr. Aaron Pitts and Mrs. Rosie L. Roberts.

In 1971 while attending job corps in McKinney, TX, Linda met Larry Edwards. They married in 1972, and as a result of their love, three daughters were born: Yolanda, Yovette and Yolynda. Through the years Linda worked as a sewing machine operator, hospitality specialist and a military wife for 21 years. In addition, she started an in-home day care business and completed an associate's degree in early childhood development, all while providing a safe home to many displaced children as a foster mother. In December 2025 she retired as an assistant director from the First Place Learning Academy in Copperas Cove, Texas. Linda was a dedicated member of Pershing Park Baptist Church, where she volunteered in the daycare and taught Sunday school for many years.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, one brother and one daughter, Yovette Latrice Edwards.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her husband of 54 years, Larry Edwards. Two daughters, Yolanda Edwards of Killeen, Tx; Yolynda Cooley (Marcus) of Sunderland, Maryland, and bonus son Zelrickia Graham (Cathaleen) of Allen, TX. Also 7 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 2 great grandsons and a host of family and friends.
