Funeral service for Mrs. Linda Fay Austin-Roscoe, 65 of Killeen, TX will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Harker Heights, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.
Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service (10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m.) at the church.
Mrs. Austin-Roscoe passed away July 20, 2023, in Killeen, TX.
Linda Fay Austin-Roscoe was born on May 5, 1958, in Mobile, Alabama to Willie Austin Sr. and Lottie Mae Austin. Raised in Mount Vernon, she accepted Christ at an early age as a member of First Baptist Church in her hometown. She passed away on July 20, 2023. She was the widow of Robert Dumar.
After moving to Phoenix, Arizona to live with her sister during her high school years, she became a member of First Institutional Baptist Church. Phoenix is also where she graduated high school at Trevor Browne.
She served in the United States Army Reserve and worked many years as a Certified Nurse Assistant at King's Daughter Hospital, Temple Living Center West, and Baylor Scott & White Continuing Care Hospital in Temple, Texas.
Linda was widely known as a seamstress and singer. She was great at both and brought joy to many lives through her gifts and service.
Preceding her in death are her parents Willie Austin Sr. and Lottie Mae Creighton Tarver; her brother Willie Austin Jr.; and her husband Robert Dumar.
She is survived by her only child and son Anthony Austin (Sheryl), grandchildren (whom she adored) Zuri and Amari Austin, siblings: Ernestine Dennis of Phoenix, AZ, Charles L. Austin, Herman Austin (Sabrina) of Gautier, MS, Carl E. Austin of Bay Minette, AL, Frances Chestang of Citronelle, AL, Kenneth Austin, Richard Austin, and Gayle (Roderick) McNeil, Sr. all of Creola, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
