Graveside service with military honors for Mr. Larry Henry Nelson 73, of Killeen, TX will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Larry H. Nelson was born in the great city of Houston, TX to George H. Nelson and Annie Mae Nelson on June 30, 1952. He passed away August 5, 2025, in Killeen, TX. Larry graduated from E. Worthington High School. Larry honored his country by selflessly serving in the United States Armed Forces. Larry joined the military on August 30, 1972, where he held a position in The Old Guard until August 29, 1974, in Washington, DC. Larry returned to service on November 11, 1974, devoting himself to Co. C 2/50 2nd Inf 101st Abn Div until November 10, 1980, at Ft. Campbell, KY.

After separating from service, Larry courageously continued his journey of serving his community as a civilian living in Killeen, TX. Larry did custodial work working with KISD Special Team, (NAF) NCO Club at Ft. Hood, TX, the Venable Village Youth Center at Ft. Hood, TX, and the Recycle Facility at Ft. Hood, TX among other places.

Larry married twice in life and was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Superman. Larry greatly enjoyed spending valuable time with close friends and family, especially his grandson.

Larry leaves to cherish his unforgettable memories a wife Faye Nelson, a son Larry J. L. Nelson (Washington, DC), a daughter Tamarra T. Nelson (Nolanville, TX), a grandson Kaydelle D. Nelson (Nolanville, TX), an ex-wife Diane Collins (Killeen, TX), a stepson Dwayne A. Collins (Killeen, TX), other siblings, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and many acquaintances. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Susan James, brother George H. Nelson Jr., and James L. Nelson.
