Memorial service for Mr. Keco Lamont Motton, Sr., 46 of Killeen, TX will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Interment with military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Mr. Motton passed away May 11, 2023, in Temple, TX.

KECO LAMONT MOTTON SR., was born in Newport News, Virginia, on August 12, 1976, to parents Burnell "Junnie" Motton Jr. and Carolyn Lucille Chambliss Motton. From early childhood education, Keco attended Surry County's schools and graduated high school in 1994. Throughout Middle and High School years, he participated in his love of sports, such as Baseball and Basketball, when not tending to his chores on his parent's hog farm.

Keco enlisted in the United States Army on May 13, 1998. While enlisted, Keco Motton met Tiana Reyes in 1999 at Fort Knox, KY (US Army). They married on December 27, 2001 (Arlington, TX) and he loved his wife for over 21 years. He was a very Proud and Dedicated Dad to his two children – daughter, Ariana "Squirrel" Linay born on January 7, 2005, & son, Keco "Buddy Boi" Lamont Motton Jr. born on August 2, 2013. His children were his "Greatest Joy and Accomplishments" Ever! Keco always spoke of how much his children made him proud. From Ari's academic honors, drawings and artistic ambition to all Keco Jr's academic honors and football accomplishments and growth. However, the thing about his children that made him most proud, was being able to call himself their "Dad".

Keco served his country proudly for over 8 years with an Honorable Discharge on June 30, 2006. He completed 10 weeks of Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for M1 Abrams Tank System Mechanic at Fort Knox, KY.  1999-2002: 2-81st Armor Reg Unit at Fort Knox, KY. 2002-2006: 3rd Armored Cavalry (Killer & Lightning Troop) at Fort Carson, CO. He proudly served two deployment tours, 2003-2004: 1st Iraq Deployment and 2005-2006: 2nd Iraq Deployment. Once Honorably Discharged from the US Army in 2006, he continued serving in the Federal Service/Dept of Defense (DOD): 2006-2010 he was employed with the Pueblo Chemical Depot in Pueblo, CO and 2010-2012 he was employed with the Dept of the Army Security Guard on Fort Hood, TX.

Keco then served the Cedar Park Police from 2012-2023, and he loved his job. For over 11 years Keco served as a Patrol Officer; over 8 years as a Central Texas Regional SWAT member (Breacher); Mental Health Officer; PEER Support Team; Military Liaison Officer; CPPD Honor Guard Member; 2019 Officer of the Year. In 2023, Keco also helped establish the Department's first ever Mental Health Unit.

While he was a fulltime Police Officer, Keco also attended and Graduated from University of Phoenix with Honor on February 28, 2015

Community Support: Masonic & Shriner Lodges since 2004 in Colorado Spring, CO; Little League Football Coach for his son, Keco Jr's football team.

Keco Lamont Motton Sr. will be clearly and deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved him. He was a friend to so many and provided great words of advice and shared testimonial stories that helped others through their difficult and darkest moments. He loved to joke, "break bread", and hang out with his closest family and friends. His infectious smile would light up everyone's day, he captivated everyone's attention, he loved to laugh and lived his life to the fullest. There are no words that can describe how much Keco loved his family, his closest friends, his career, and his community. He loved a genus of music, especially the "Blues". He loved sports (Football, Baseball, Basketball, Racquetball and Boxing), he was also one of the biggest fans of the Washington Commanders -aka- "Redskins, HTTR Nation".

Keco is preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Lucille; maternal grandparents, Liston & Mabel Chambliss; paternal grandmother, Frances Motton Jackson. He is survived by and left to cherish & honor his memories: his loving wife, Tiana Ivette Motton, two amazing children, Ariana Linay Motton & Keco Lamont Motton Jr; his 2 siblings: sister, Katina Rena Motton (niece- Shakena Greene & nephew- Kyree Greene) and half-sister, Demeatrice Garrett (Rodney); his father- Burnell "Junnie" Motton Jr; his aunt and uncle Thelma and Earl Brown; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, close relatives and friends.
