Mrs. Short passed away February 10, 2023, in Killeen, TX.
Mrs. Kathy Sue Short was born January 20, 1954, in Eugene, Oregon, where she lived until she moved to Washington state with her mother and grandparents. They later lived in Massachusetts and then moved with her family to Mountain Home, Arkansas, where she finished high school. Kathy later raised her sons in Mountain Home for the entirety of their childhoods. There she had a career with Baxter Travenol Labs for over 25 years. David, her husband of 30 years, and she moved for the last time to Killeen, Texas along with their sons and their families. There they continued to play a huge role in their children's and all of their grandchildren's lives. Kathy was known for doing anything for the people she loved, even despite herself. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, going out places with her husband, and loved technology in her later years. Her wit held no bounds. Kind and patient until the end of her life, and a firm believer in God who spent her life spreading that love and belief with those around her, she went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, February 10, 2023.
In addition to her Husband David Short, Kathy is survived by her son Jason and Tashe Lewis, grandchildren Aryonna, Jeremiah, Joshua, Esther, Elijah-Carmelle, and JohnDavid; her youngest son Stephen Short, grandchildren Kalie Sides and her husband Jeff, Natalie Short and her children Hudson and Hadley Creasey, and Stephens youngest son Hunter Short; her stepdaughter Tonia Gaj, Tonia's son Kyle Gaj and wife Jennifer; along with many other relatives and cousins.
Preceded in death by her grandparents Dean and Hazel Elizabeth Lewis, her mother Hazel Kathleen Lewis, her uncle Dean Jr. (Bud) Lewis and his wife Judy, her Aunt Dorothy, and her great-granddaughter Raylie-Jane.
