Funeral service for Mrs. Kathleen Ann Hefner, 59 of Killeen, TX will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Killeen, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 (6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m.) at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX.

Kathleen Ann (Vantiger) Hefner, 59, of Killeen, Texas, passed away in her home on October 3, 2021, from complications of Cancer. She was born February 19, 1962, in Guam.

Kathy worked for several School ISD's from Louisiana, Hawaii and finally Killeen ISD working with the Deaf and Special Needs Children, she loved to sign and to help children to grow.  She worked in Education for over 40 years.

Kathy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; she held many church positions. She loved the Hymns, but her great love was working in Cub Scouts for over 35 years. She was associated with the Boy Scouts of America, in many positions from Cub Scout Pack to District and Council level. Kathy staffed many Cub Scout Day Camps, Wood Badge and Powered Horn courses. She was the recipient of the Boy Scout Silver Beaver Award, and she loved volunteering at Camp Tahuaya.

Kathy loved her family, all those that associated with her, and those that came to know her loved her very much. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Jewel Hefner of Killeen, Texas; her four children, Michael, John, James, and Rachel; her two brothers, Mike and Kenneth Vantiger and their spouses.

She was preceded in death by her father Frank Vantiger, and her mother Yvonne Malo.
