Memorial service for Mrs. Kara Elizabeth Ballard, 49 of Killeen, TX will be held Monday, September 22, 2025, 11:30 a.m. at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center in Killeen, TX. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Mrs. Ballard passed away September 5, 2025, in Temple, TX. She was born August 15, 1976, in Pembroke, NC.

Kara was born August 15, 1976, in Pembroke, North Carolina, to William and Joan Lowry.

"A TIME TO DIE"
On Friday, September 5, 2025, death plucked a flower from the garden of life when our precious loved one was called to heaven's reward.

"A TIME TO PLANT"
Kara confessed Christ at an early age to First Methodist Church of Pembroke, North Carolina. She attended Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Killeen, Texas.

"A TIME FOR MARRIAGE"
April 17, 2004, Kara and Jonathon Ballard were united in holy matrimony. "A TIME FOR EDUCATION" Kara was educated at Purnell Swett High School.

"A TIME TO WORK"
Kara enlisted in the United States Army in 1998, and until her departure Kara worked as a nurse at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs in Temple, Texas.

"A TIME FOR PEACE"
Kara is now at peace in the redemptive love of Christ. Let the peace and love of Jesus Christ be with you all, and let your memories of her always be full of love and happiness!

"SURVIVORS TO CHERISH HER MEMORY"
Kara touched the lives of everyone who knew her with her kindness, strength, and love. Her memory will live on through her devoted husband, Jonathon Ballard; her daughter, Jakara Ballard of Killeen, TX; her three sons, Jordan Ballard of Norman Oklahoma, Jamal Ballard of Killeen, TX, and Treon Jones of Pflugerville, TX. She is also lovingly remembered by her mother, Joan Lowry of Killeen; her sisters, Terri (Pedro) Massol and Dorenda (Robert) Chavis; and her brother, Joel Lowry, all of Pembroke North Carolina. T hough she was preceded in death by her father, William Lowry, and her sister, Donnette Lowry, Kara's spirit continues to shine through the love of her family, cousins, and countless friends who will hold her in their hearts forever.

KARA'S LEGACY OF LOVE AND SERVICE
Kara's life was defined by her unwavering dedication to family, friends, and all those around her. She was always ready with a helping hand and words of encouragement, and her devotion was evident in the nine years she proudly served her country in the U.S. Army. Even after her passing, Kara's generosity lives on—as she gave the gift of life through organ donation and the gifts of her belongings to the battered women's shelter in Killeen. Her legacy of love continues.

Kara touched every life she encountered, leaving behind a legacy shaped not only by what she accomplished but by how deeply she loved. As a Nurse, she made a difference professionally, yet she also found joy in life's simple pleasures—riding motorcycles, laughing with family, and pursuing hobbies that brought her fulfillment. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious, inspiring others to embrace each day with gratitude and purpose.

She was well known for her passion, love, and the positive friendships she shared throughout her life. Kara was active and took great pride in the organizations she was affiliated with, including B.L. Seawood #86, Order of the Eastern Star, E.L. Downing Court #237, Heroines of Jericho, H.O.T., and the Unleashed Beast Motorcycle Club, where she was a proud national member. She was a loyal friend to countless others, creating memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
