Funeral service for Ms. JoAnn "JoJo" Long, 62 of Belton, TX will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022, 9:00 a.m. at Pershing Park Baptist Church in Killeen, TX, with a viewing one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial with military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.
Ms. Long passed away February 3, 2022, in Belton, TX.
Jo Ann Daniels Long was born to the late Henry Pete Daniels and Annette Laster Daniels on October 14, 1959. While here on Earth, she was graced with God's blessings for 62 years. On February 3rd, God looked upon the countenance of Jo Ann and saw that she was good and plucked her out of His perfect garden.
Jo Ann was educated in the Ohio School system where she was a 1978 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School. Shortly after, she joined the U.S. Army and served for 12 years as a Food Service Specialist and received numerous of meritorious service awards. After retiring, JoJo tapped into her creative side and opened up JR Ceramics which she handcrafted customary ceramic pieces for clients.
Jo Ann was united in holy matrimony to Leroy Long, Jr. on June 1, 1990, where he honored his vows to her in sickness and in health until death, he did part. JoJo was an energetic and fun filled woman. She loved entertaining at her house parties, playing cards, and getting dolled up. She loved her trips down to Louisiana for the homecooked meals from her stepdaughter, Teviron. Her heart wasn't big enough for her grandchildren. The highlight of her life traveling with the love her life, Roylee, bowling, and playing bingo.
Jo Ann leaves to cherish her precious memory— her loving sister: Carolyn Kilburn of Dallas, TX; brother: John Daniels of Cleveland, OH; stepdaughters: Lacresha Long of Harker Heights, TX and Teviron Ross of Baton Rouge, LA; five grandchildren, Breon Long of Newport News, VA; Devon & Cinnamon Long of Killeen, TX; Imani Washington & Evan Dickerson of Baton Rouge, LA; one great grandson, Ricky Vallejo of Killeen, TX; niece: Monique Daniels; nephews: Marcus Kilburn, Dakota Kilburn; great nephews: Keondre Davis and Adrian Mitchell all of Denton, TX; six aunts and four uncles; godchildren Christopher Griffin & Tiffany Coleman, army & best friend Linda Coleman of Arlington, TX; and longtime neighbor and friend, Jean Burns, both of Killeen, TX.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Long Jr.; parents Henry & Annette Daniels; brothers, Robert Lee Daniels, and Frankie Lands.
