Jarin Thomas Cole, known as JC Stringz, was born to Darron and Tina Cole on May 23, 2001, and passed away at the age of 22 on August 2, 2023. Jarin was known for his God-given gifts, warm smile, huge heart and giving spirit.

Jarin attended Greater Vision Community Church (GVCC) his entire life. He played for his first crowd at GVCC when he was 9 years old and became a member of the Greater Vision Community Church band at the age of 14. Jarin graduated from Harker Heights High School in Killeen ISD in 2019 where he was a member of the orchestra and jazz band.  Jarin was also a member of the jazz band at Temple College until he graduated in 2021. Most recently, Jarin was a senior at the Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts with an expected graduation date of May 2024. While attending Berklee College of Music, Jarin attended and played guitar at the Kingdom Empowerment Church.

Jarin's talents were multifaceted. He began playing guitar at the age of 8, violin at 10, keys at 12, and vocals later in his teenage years. He wanted to make people smile with his music.

Jarin loved Central Texas and spearheaded several philanthropic gestures to support the community such as: visiting nursing homes and senior centers, raising money for the Food Care Center and to purchase sleeping bags/blankets the homeless, sponsoring Christmas events for foster children at the Garden of Hope, organizing celebrations for special needs children, those afflicted with cancer, and many more.

JC performed with and opened for Grammy nominated, Emmy nominated, and other award-winning artists: The Peterson Brothers, Saul Paul, Damien Escobar, and Daniel D.

Jarin leaves to mourn his parents, Darron and Tina Cole; grandparents Oliver and Bernice Cole; uncles: Sammie (Juncle) DuBose, Jr. (April); Dana Cole (Stella), Derrick Cole, and Darryl Cole (Joy), godparents and siblings, and an extended family of cousins, friends and family. Jarin never met a stranger. He was adamant about sharing God's love with all he met.

Central Texas mourns the loss of Jarin Cole and hopes his light and humility will serve as examples for all of us to follow. We will miss Jarin, also known as JC Stringz. Our community will be forever impacted by his talents.
