Funeral service for Mr. James Wendell McCarty, 63 of Killeen ,TX will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at the People's Choice Worship Center in Killeen, TX. Burial with military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service (12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.) at the church.

James Wendell McCarty was born December 7 ^th , 1957, and passed into eternal rest on October 20 ^th ,2021.

He was born in Ocean Springs, Mississippi to parents James and Mary McCarty, and was the oldest of 7 children.

He was a long-time resident of Killeen Texas, where he resided with his wife of 37 years, Mary McCarty.

He graduated from Alcorn State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He Served in the U.S. Army for 15 years. He then went on to work for and retire from the VA Hospital. He was a member of People's Choice Worship Center.

He leaves to mourn his loss his devoted wife, Mary McCarty; his son, Taurus; daughters; Qiana and Melinda; son-in-law Shon; daughter-in-law Rhonda; grandchildren, Ajanay, Jeremiah, Maurice, Airionna, Myla; great granddaughter Khamiyah; many nieces, nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Mamie, and his mother Mary.

He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
