Funeral service for Mr. James Lee Fields 85, of Killeen, TX will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024, 12:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Burial with military honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.

James Lee Fields was born January 30th,1939 to Bezell and Walter Fields in Tiptonville, Tennessee. Mr. Fields passed away October 26, 2024, in Austin, TX. James was the oldest of 10 siblings. James confessed his faith in Christ at an early age serving as a Bible Study teacher at First United Presbyterian Church. James was a United States Army Veteran with tours in Germany and France. He was Honorably Discharged in 1968. James was employed by U.S. Steel (Midwest Operators Engineers) and retired after 31 years of service.

In 1964 James was united in Holy Matrimony to Marie Cassidy. Both James and Marie had one child prior to their marriage. To this union two children were born.

James was a 33* degree Mason and Past Master of St. James Lodge #62 F&AM, where he served as Secretary until leaving Gary, Indiana. James served as a member of Christ Temple Holiness USA Church Trustee Board until moving to Texas.

James preceded in death by: (father) Henry Fields, (mother) Bezell Fisher, (brother) Samie D. Fields, (brother) S. T. Stewart, (brother) Aaron Fisher Jr., (stepfather) Aaron Fisher Sr., (sister) Cathrine Fisher, (granddaughters) Kiara and Tiara Gipson and (wife) Marie Fields.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Mary Elizabeth Fields of Tiptonville, Tennessee, Anita Steele of Michigan City Indiana, Stacie (Emanuel) Hunter of Killeen, Texas, Darnell L. Fields Sr. of Houston, Texas; special nonbiological daughter, Tamara (Eric) Boles of Harker Heights, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren with the eighth weeks away; and five great-great grandchildren.

Fun Facts about James: James was a Handyman, often called "Tim the Toolman Taylor". James loved to do crossword puzzles, read the newspaper and Chat with Stacie over coffee in the morning. James loved watching every sport while sitting in his room with the remote control turning from game to game and texting with granddaughter Mia about each close game. If you met James, you would fall in love with his smile and his love for family and friends. James Fields leaves all our hearts broken with his absence.
