James was a member of the United States Army and served his country in Vietnam. He was educated in Jefferson Parish School system in Louisiana. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. James retired as a construction worker and helped build the New Orleans Superdome. He also worked with the Navajo Company as a truck driver. He enjoyed his career as a driver for 12 years. James was very knowledgeable with the highways; if you got lost and needed directions, no matter where you were, he would get you back on track. James loved knowledge. His version of world history was amazing, and he was also a great "storyteller". He would spend hours upon hours telling creative stories.
James was loved by his family and friends, and always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his beloved wife of 31 years, Pearline Anderson; daughters, Tracey Anderson Feast (Gregory); Yvonne Anderson-Patterson; Antoinette Sparks; Stephanie and Adriane Riley; sons, Frederick and Stanley Riley. Also cherishing his lasting memories, his grandchildren: Justin, Isaiah, Sierra, Joshua, Jerry, Gerald, Tawanna, Stefa, Desirea, Danzel, Jacory, Frederica, Brittany, Anthony, Leandvia, Jeray, Stanley Jr., and Motoigue; 31 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren. His sister-n-law, Charotte Williams; God children, Darrius Harris and Tansy Nickerson -Falgout; devoted niece, Alva Hubbard. His devoted friends, Theodore Gooch and Shawn Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
James is preceded in death by his mother, Ella Jones; son, Jimmy Riley; son-in-law, Albert Sparks; uncle, Robert Boyd; and aunt, Velma Boyd. He leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever linger in our hearts.
