Killeen
In Loving Memory of Mr. Herbert Johann Vaux
July 7, 1947 – October 20, 2025
Herbert Johann Vaux, 78, of Killeen, Texas, passed peacefully from this life on October 20, 2025, surrounded by love.
Born on July 7, 1947, in Nurnberg, Germany, to Roy E. and Margarete Vaux, Herbert's journey was one marked by hard work, devotion, and quiet strength.
Private family funeral services will be held at a later date, where loved ones will gather to celebrate the beautiful life, he lived.
For more than two decades, Herbert dedicated himself to Bay Long Toyota, where his diligence and reliability left a lasting impression. He later continued his lifelong commitment to service with the Killeen Independent School District, working over 20 years as a custodian whose care and pride could be seen in every hallway he tended.
Herbert found peace and joy in the simple beauty of the outdoors. Whether casting a fishing line into calm waters, setting up camp beneath the stars, or working on his latest DIY project, he found purpose in creating and nurturing. He especially loved building things—decks, sheds, and painting projects that reflected his patience and craftsmanship.
Above all, Herbert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was his heart, and he treasured every moment spent with them. His laughter, wisdom, and gentle guidance will remain forever in their memories.
Herbert was preceded in death by his beloved parents.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Inge Vaux; his cherished daughter, Betina Cash; and his adored grandson, Dylan Cash. He also leaves behind two loving brothers, Willy and Eric Vaux, who will hold his memory close.
Herbert will be remembered as a humble, hard-working man with a generous spirit—a neighbor always ready to lend a helping hand and a friend whose kindness touched every life he encountered. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
