Memorial service for Mrs. Gloria Sue Anthony, 59 of Killeen, TX will be held Friday, October 6, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Christian Center in Killeen, TX. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
Gloria Sue Anthony, 59, of Killeen, Texas, passed away on September 24, 2023, in Temple, Texas.
Gloria Sue Anthony was born in Niagara Falls, New York to Ruth and John Sistrunk on January 18, 1964.Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY She went to school at Trott Vocational High School and graduated in 1982 with her diploma and cosmetology license. Soon after high school she Joined the United States Army in February 1983 as Petroleum Specialist. Mrs. Gloria was able to visit states such as Alaska and Kentucky, where she met and married Willie Michael Anthony, a handsome country boy with good hair, from South Carolina. A competitive pool game then led to their union on May 31,1985 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Mr. and Mrs. Anthony's union brought about two daughters, Misty being born in the country of Germany and Michelle being born in Fort Hood,Texas. After medically separating from the United States ARMY as SGT GLORIA ANTHONY in August 1995. Gloria decided to become a stay-at-home mother until her two daughters were school aged, Gloria then worked various jobs, but her most profound professional job after separating from the ARMY was as a Housekeeper at the Rosewood Retirement and Rehab Center, in Harker Heights, Texas. In 2011 Mrs. Gloria decided to leave the work scene and become a full-time spoiling NANA to her pride and heartbeat McKenzie, DON'T get us wrong she loved all of her grandkids, but if you knew Mrs. Gloria you knew her relationship with Kenzie. When she wasn't on NANA duty, you could find Gloria at several bingo halls, card games, the casino, even recently at the dominoes table, she loved competition and money. We all knew that Gloria was a NO NONSENSE type of woman, if it didn't make sense be prepared for the rebuttal and argument. She always said what was on her mind and it definitely never had NO filter, but no one could ever stay mad at her simply, because we knew it came from a place of care, and love which we will truly miss.
Gloria is preceded in death by her mother Ruth Etta Sistrunk, Father John Oscar Sistrunk, Sisters Carolyn Ann Sistrunk, Ruth Etta, and Jennett Marie Sistrunk all of Niagara Falls, New York
Mrs. Gloria is survived by her loving husband Mr. Willie Michael Anthony, Two Beautiful daughters Misty Monne'ysha Sewell (Peter Sean Sewell Jr.) of Fort
Worth, TX, and Michelle Nicole Hartfield of Burleson, TX, she also leaves behind five siblings, John Oscar Sistrunk Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY, Kenneth Earl Sistrunk, of Niagara Falls, NY, Fraun Elaine Stephens (George Stephens) of Rochester, NY, Alice Deloris Cox (Palmer Cox) of Rochester NY, Loretta Stewart (Fred Stewart) of Niagara Falls, NY. Her grandchildren who she based her life around and loved so effortlessly, McKenzie Amiyah Tutwiler, Konner Michael Sewell, Roman
DeAnthony Thornton and bonus grandson Carter Sean Sewell. Gloria leaves behind a host of nieces, and nephews, Along with some very close friends that she considered to be family.
The family of Mrs. Gloria Anthony wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Marisa Martin, and Kay her caregivers who became family.
