Funeral service for Mr. Glen Charles Root, 71 of Killeen, TX will be held Thursday, November 4, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Killeen, TX. Graveside service will be held at a later date in Ringsted Memorial Cemetery in Ringsted, IA.

Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service (9:00 .m. - 10:00 a.m.) at the church.

Glen Charles Root was born June 18, 1950, to Harvey and Rosemary Root of Kilkenny, Minnesota. Glen moved to Fairmont, Minnesota where he met and married his beautiful wife Bette in 1982. God blessed them with their son, Matthew in 1984. With the loss of his beloved wife in 1993, Glen found his faith within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Glen served within the Community Outreach Ministry. In 2011, Glen moved to Killeen, Texas to be with his sister. As an avid bowler, Glen joined the Tuesday afternoon league at Bowlerama. God called Glen home on October 30, 2021.

Glen is survived by his son, Matthew (Danielle) Root of Bloomington, Minnesota; four sisters, one brother, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Bette Root; parents; one sister; and an infant brother.
