"Israel" George Daniel Griffin Junior, was born on May 18, 1958, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, where he lived until he joined the military in 1977. On March 9, 2026, he received his spiritual promotion. George was a man who enjoyed working with his hands and spending time outdoors; he especially loved fishing and was known for his ability to build and repair things. Over the years George crafted many items out of wood and took pride in fixing whatever needed attention. His practical mind and strong work ethic led him to a career in construction and
engineering.

In 1977 George joined the United States Army where he proudly served ten years, applying his skills in both engineering and construction during his service. George was a man of faith and was known throughout his neighborhood, where he was well-respected and loved. George was preceded in death by his father, George Daniel Griffin, Sr., and his mother, Sylvia Ann.

George leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Yvonne C.; children, Levon D. Huggins, Jewelle C. Huggins, and Ashli N. (husband, Neil F. Angeles); brothers, Aldon "Booboo" Griffin (wife, Toni) and Clayton Griffin; sisters, Brenda Griffin and Linda Poyner; cousin, Connie Sparrow;
aunts, Vivian White and Deloris Griffin; sister-in-law, Sheila Minor, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

George will be remembered for his strong hands, steady spirit, and the quiet way he cared for those around him. His life touched many, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. The family sincerely appreciates the care, compassion, and support shown by all his caregivers during his final days.
