Funeral service for Mr. Floyd French, Jr., 78 of Killeen, TX will be held Friday, October 15, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at Greater Vision Community Church in Killeen, TX. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Ebbon Cemetery in Luling, TX.
Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service (9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.) at the church.
Floyd French, Jr. was born in Luling, Texas on October 08, 1942. 78 years later the Lord called him home to spend eternity with him on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
He was the first born of five children to Floyd, Sr. and Virgie Lee French. He lived in Luling, TX until his family moved to San Antonio, Texas where he graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in 1961.
He was married to the former Evelyn Miller. One child was born of this union, a daughter, Vel Martin. He was employed at H.E.B for 35 years until retirement January 1998.
Bro. French was a member of New Light Baptist Church. Upon moving to Killeen, Texas in 2014, he attended Greater Vision Community Church.
Floyd loved spending time with his family and especially the family gatherings and BBQs. He also enjoyed bowling, playing dominos and sports. His favorite sports teams were San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bears and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Bro. French was preceded in death by his grandparents Eaph and Alzader French, parents Floyd, Sr. and Virgie French, brother Larry French; brother-in-law Jimmie Martin, and granddaughter Erica French.
He is survived by: daughter: Vel Martin (James); siblings, Barbara Martin, Shirley Ginyard, Eugene French (Judy); grandchildren, Tasha, James
Jr., and Markus Martin; great -grandchildren, Xavier and Jayden Martin and K'yran , Nikolas and Doryan Brown; an aunt, Equila Hicks; a niece, six nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives, friends, and loved ones who will miss him dearly.
