Funeral services for Mrs. Floristine Cleveland, 62 of Killeen, TX will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.).
A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Floristine Bernice Cleveland was born to hte late Solomon James, Junior and Carrie Edith Thomas (both members of the United States Army) on January 20, 1961 in Fort Benning, Georgia.
She graduated from Guthrie Job Corp Center, then Central Texas College with a degree in sociology. She went on to work diligently for Families in Crisis as a practical nurse for over 15 years until retirement.
Floristine was well-known for her big, energetic parties and cook-outs. She was the life of every party. She was a devoted mother to not only her own children, buy many others around her. She had a great passion for helping other any time, any place. Floristine adored her grandchildren and never met a stranger. A true friend to every one.
On May 2, 2023, Floristine transitioned from earthly labor and tribulations to heavenly reward, where she lived for most of her years - Killeen, Texas.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved son Nelson Boozier West.
Floristine Cleveland leaves to cherish precious memories, her children: Floristine Black (Jeremy), Myra Bright (Zantar), Quentin Earl West, Sr.; brothers, James A. Barnett (Elaine), Cornell C. James (Courtney), Sal James (Laura) and David James; sisters, Vivian Heggins and Joyce James; grandchildren: Orlando Black, Baby Girl Black, Vietelous Lamar Wilson II, Floristine Renee' Wilson, Zantar Anton Bright II, Zy'kel Amier Bright, Za'Myra Amara Bright, Quentin Earl West, Jr, Jordan West and Nani West; close friends: Verna McVea, Bridget McVea and Briana McVea; special loved ones: Boozier West and Bobby Bondurant; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
