Funeral service for Mrs. Evelyn Louise Sanders, 82 of Harker Heights, TX will be held Friday, August 1, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service (9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.) at the funeral home.

Evelyn Louise Sanders was born September 11, 1942, in Roberta, GA to parents Addie Pearl and Charles Simmons. She received her GED online in Oklahoma.  Mrs. Sanders passed away July 22, 2025, in Round Rock, TX.

In 1973 Evelyn worked as a maid for Dr. R.J. Whitten of Harker Heights until 1976. She then moved to Lawton OK, where she worked on Ft. Sill as a Kitchen Personnel.

In 1980 she married Henry Sanders Jr., and they became members of Union Baptist Church in Lawton, OK, where she was a faithful member until the day she passed. They lived a happy life together, until Mr. Sanders passed in 2004.  Evelyn loved her family and the Lord.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Robert Lamar and wife, Georgia; brothers, Robert Lamar, Rueben Lamar, and Clarence Davis; grandchildren, Michael Paul Lamar, Adrian Q. Lamar, Rodney Johnson, Rueben Johnson, Tehia Rice-Mills, Tidashia Johnson; and a host, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Sanders, Jr.; parents, Addie Pearl and Charles Simmons; sisters, Catherine Causey, Bernice Gaines, Lulamae Davis; and brothers, Sammy Davis, and Joe Louise Lamar.
