Funeral Services for Mrs. Eunice Gaynitha Hardeman 88 of Copperas Cove, TX will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2026, 9: 00 a.m. at Christian House of Prayer in Copperas Cove, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 18, 2026, (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) at Chislom's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX

Mrs. Hardeman passed away April 30, 2026, in Copperas Cove, TX.  She was born July 2, 1937, in Bedford, VA.

Our beloved Eunice G. Penn Hardeman was born on July 2, 1937, as the youngest of thirteen children to Johnson and Mary Penn in Bedford County, Virginia. It was there in Bedford where her journey began. At 19 years old, she met and later married Matthew B. Hardeman, Jr., who was serving in the United States Air Force.

Eunice and her husband, along with their five children, traveled to various duty stations, domestic and abroad. Eunice ensured that the family found and remained active in a local church in every location. In June of 1969, with Matthew retired, the family settled in Battle Creek, Michigan. It was there that Eunice became a Nurses Aid and later worked in the school system as an aide in the Physical or Other Health Impaired (POHI) Department. She retired from the Battle Creek public school system in 1999.

In the fall of 1999, Matthew and Eunice moved to Copperas Cove, Texas. There, she immediately joined and became active in the Christian House of Prayer. She served with the Refuge Corporation, the Super Saints, the Good Grief Widow and Widowers Ministry, and was a 2011 graduate of Sonship School of the Firstborn. In 2015, Eunice became a licensed minister.

Continuing in her love for children, she helped her neighbors with after-school childcare. During her retirement, Eunice also rekindled her passion for painting using her gift to bless many with custom paintings, painted family portraits, and even painting lessons.

Eunice was the last living member of her siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnson and Mary Penn; twelve siblings; and husband of 66 years, "Good Lookin" Matthew B. Hardeman, Jr. She departed this world to check into her prepared place on April 30, 2026, to be reunited with them forevermore.
