Funeral service for Ms. Ethel Mae Jamison, 77 of Nolanville, TX will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX.  Visitation will follow the service from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ethel Mae Jamison was the beloved daughter of late Dorother and Rosie Lee Matthews, a WWII Veteran and Homemaker.  Ethel was born on September 4, 1948, in Elgin, Texas and was called home on July 12, 2026, at the young age of 77.  She accepted the Lord at a young age and was baptized at Mount Carmel Baptized Church in Elgin, Texas under the late Reverand Goins. Ethel was immersed in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends. She instilled the importance of having a relationship with Christ. She graduated from Booker T Washington High School in 1967. She then attended Nixon Clay College of Business while working her first job at Golden Years Retirement & Nursing Home caring for the elderly. After retiring from Civil Service, she worked in education and finished her career as a certified nurse's assistant in the home health industry; returning to her first love.

Ethel was a nurturer and caregiver at heart. She is known for her devotion to the word of God and her ability to reconcile and forgive without hesitation.  She was very strong willed and drew confidence from her faith.  To know her was to love her.  She was willing to help anyone in need including strangers. She would preemptively offer her time, services, and resources to help others. In her later years, she was oblivious to her physical limitations still prioritizing the needs of others.

Ethel enjoyed reading her Bible, singing worship songs, cross word puzzles, Soap Operas, Western movies, and making her well coveted banana pudding, and stuffed eggs for every occasion. She loved church, Elgin hot sausages, and Church's Chicken.  Family would mock her for her unusual home remedies; like a potato necklace to reduce fevers and warm water to relieve trapped gas. However, they later realized her home remedies were effective.

Ethel was blessed with a large and loving family who is survived by her very good friend/ex-husband Roy Jamison, daughters: Bridget Price (Audi), Dale Jamison, and Rachael Hood-McPeters (Darryl). Her ten grandchildren: Jamil Dyson, Dane Beasley (Leneice), Leah Franklin, Isaiah Johnson, Psalms Holloway (Damondzea), Deaubry Hood, Brian Hood Jr, Jada Hood, Elijiah Price, and Christopher Hood.

Twelve great grandchildren; Sh'Niyah Dyson, Jordyan Dyson, Langston Beasley, Joy Beasley, Josiah Beasley, Levi Beasley, Elias Holloway, Aliza Holloway, Le'Asia Craig, DeQuindre Craig Jr, Laniyah Craig, and Draylen Craig.

Survived by siblings; Dorothy Matthews-Brown, Bobby Matthews, Charles Matthews, Harold Matthews, Carolyn Matthews, Barbra White, Eddie Matthews, and Erma Matthews.

Proceeded in death by her parents Dorother and Rosie Lee Matthews; daughter Joyce Cunningham; siblings Larry Matthews, Durban Matthews, and Milton Matthews.
