Funeral service for Elder Christopher Shermein Kyle, 46 of Killeen, TX will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Unity Baptist Church in Copperas Cove, TX. Burial will follow the service at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held Friday, May 7, 2021 (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) at Unity Baptist Church in Copperas Cove, TX.

Mr. Kyle passed away April 25, 2021, in Killeen. He was born November 26, 1974, in Houston, Texas.

Elder Christopher Shermein Kyle was called from earthly labor to heavenly rest at the age of 46, on April 25, 2021, at his home in Killeen, Texas. He was born November 26, 1974, to Sherman and Rosemary Kyle at St. Luke Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was educated in his early years at Mt.
Zion Christian School, where he learned about God, Alice Johnson Junior High School, and Channelview High School, where he graduated in the Class of 1992. He furthered his education at Prairie View A & M University, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1997, and at The University of Phoenix, where he received a Master of Business Administration in 2006.

While attending PVAMU, Elder Kyle met the love of his life, Chernitra, and they were united in holy matrimony on June 8, 2002. He accepted his call to preach the Gospel in 2006 and preached his first sermon titled "Life is Hard, but God is Good" from Lamentations 3:14-19 at Unity Baptist Church on January 14, 2007, and his first sermon at his childhood church Blessed Hope on March 4, 2007. He was ordained as an Elder on January 1, 2012. He served as the Director of Christian Education and Adult Sunday School Teacher at Unity Baptist Church. He also served faithfully in the Men's Ministry, as a Mentor in the Youth of Unity (Y.O.U.) Ministry, as well as a mentor to young men at Willow Springs Elementary School, where he worked as an ISS Interventionist. Elder Kyle absolutely loved to study, teach, and preach God's word and was always willing to share it with anyone he came in contact with.

He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and hanging out with his daughters – he was truly a "Girl Dad." He had a passion for smoking meat and started his own BBQ business, "Tha SmokeHouse," in 2017.

Elder Kyle was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Kyle.

Memories of his life will forever be treasured by: his loving wife of almost 19 years, Chernitra Kyle, whom he affectionately called his "FAVORITE GIRL"; his beautiful daughters, Christyn and Chayden Kyle; his mother, Rosemary Kyle; and his other parents, Richard and Carol Lewis – "Pops" and "Mama Lou."

A lifetime of fond memories will forever be in the hearts of: his siblings, Shannon (Jessica) Kyle, Efrem Alexander, Karonica (Reginald) Casey, Soinkne (Watt) Carroll, and Richard (Erica) Lewis, III; his nephews, Chase Kyle, Keelan Kyle, Reginald Casey, Jr., Richard Casey, Roshaun Casey, Richard Lewis, IV, and Kharsen Morant, Jr.; his nieces, Inaya Kyle, Leilani Kyle, Eva Lewis (goddaughter), Olivia Lewis (best friend), Soinkne Morant, and great niece, Skye Casey.

He will also be cherished by: his godbrother, DeMarcus Ross; godkids, Peyten Carrier and Alex Medina; the "November Trio," Nigel Morant, aka His Snookums; the "June 8th Quad," Chuck and Robyn Carrier; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, co-workers, and church family.
