It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt and Grandma Elaine Carole Cravens Settles Johnson. Elaine Johnson was born on August 12, 1958, in Orlando Florida, and passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, in Killeen Texas. She was 66 years old. Was a former student at Alexandria Senior High School. She was the beloved daughter of Edwin Lloyd Cravens and Grace Madelaine Goldsmith Cravens, beloved mother to Kenneth Lloyd Settles (May) and Veronica Lynn Settles.  A sister to Mary Elizabeth Cravens Rayburn, half-sister to Wayne Burns, stepsister to Frank Normand Rayburn, Charles Morris Rayburn and Alvin Lewis Rayburn.

Elaine was known for her kind heart and adventurous spirit. She loved spending time with her family and friends and loving her cats April and Hermione. She loved to dance, read and travel. Elaine worked with special needs clients in Texas and Louisiana for many years. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and unforgettable moments. She is survived by her half-brother Wayne Burns, stepbrother Alvin Rayburn and sister Mary Cravens Rayburn, son Kenneth Lloyd Settles (May) and daughter Veronica Lynn Settles and one grandson (Harland), several nieces and nephews, and her special friends that were very close to her heart Donna Barnhart Daniel and Carol Barnhart.

Our sincere thanks go to the staff members and friends at Killeen Nursing Rehabilitation Center and Chisolm's Family Funeral home for the care and compassion shown to Elaine. Also heartfelt thanks to Donna Daniel and her husband for their loving, caring and devotion to Elaine and Tony Paul favorite fixer upper man. A celebration of life will be held at College Drive Baptist Church at a later date.
