Funeral services for Mr. Edward "Theo" Pharr Jr., 60 of Killeen, Texas will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at Anderson Chapel AME Church in Killeen, Texas. Burial will follow the service at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.).
Mr. Pharr passed away November 5, 2023, in Mobile, Alabama.
Edward Pharr Jr., son of the late Edward Pharr, Sr. and Brenda Pharr was born on November 18, 1962, in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from Waynesville High School in Waynesville, MO in 1981. At an early age Edward accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in Baumholder, Germany. He married his high school sweetheart, Marien Cooper in May 1984.
He was a longtime resident of Killeen, TX, and a member of Thomas Chapel AME Church. Edward began his career with TDCJ-ID in 1988 and retired as a Senior Warden after 30 years of state service.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward Pharr Sr, Grandmothers, Hattie Pharr Tinsley and LeCandis Lewis and brotherly friend Anthony Patrick.
He leaves to celebrate his life: His loving wife Marien Pharr and children, Marquita Pharr, LaKeisha Pharr, Kendall Pharr and Kaci (Dylan) Meguire. Mother, Brenda Pharr and siblings, Sandra (Theo) Johnson, Arnita (Kenneth) Tyson, Carla (Craig) Gilbert, and Kurtis (Kelley) Pharr. Loving sisters-in-law, La'Tanya Clark, Jacqueline (Wayne) Young, and Sandra Cooper. Nine grandchildren. Great aunt, Ruby Pettway. Uncles, Charles Pharr (Estella), Robert Tinsley, Michael (Pamela) Pettway, Kenneth Pettway, Roderick Pettway, and Tammanuel Lewis. Aunts, Flora Blanks and Lynn Dixon. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special friend, Eddie Holt, and special extended family Rev. Claudia Durant, Peggy Hill, and Natalie Watson.
