A celebration of life for Mrs. Dorothy Lela Holmes, 91 of Killeen, TX will be held Friday, January 31, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service from 9:00AM - 11:00AM. Burial will follow the service at the Killeen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Our beloved mother, Dorothy Lela Holmes, peacefully ascended to heaven on January 17, 2025, at the age of 91. Dorothy embodied unwavering support, wisdom, knowledge, altruism, and love, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. A treasured friend and an integral part of the Marlboro Heights community in Killeen, Texas, her legacy radiates kindness and strength.

Dorothy was born on December 1, 1933, in Greenville, MS, and throughout her life, she demonstrated an extraordinary ability to nurture and uplift those around her. She was deeply devoted to her family, her faith, and her community, becoming a pillar of support and guidance to all who knew her.

Though predeceased by her husband, Willie Holmes, and her daughters, Valerie Holmes Deese and Tanya Odetta Holmes, Dorothy's spirit endures through her sons, Louis Andre Holmes, Maurice Brian Holmes, and Mark Christopher Holmes, who continue to carry forward her teachings and values. She also leaves behind a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends whose lives were touched by her warm and generous heart.

Family and friends are invited to gather in her honor to share memories and celebrate the remarkable life she lived.
