On Tuesday, December 14, Doris Ann Guetersloh Lewis passed away in Belton, Texas. She was 77 years old.  She was born in Levelland, Texas.  She was predeceased by her parents, Michael F Guetersloh and Emma T Verkamp Guetersloh.  Her brothers, Michael F Guetersloh Jr and Herman (Jeannette) Guetersloh preceded her in death.  Her beloved daughter, Sherry K Lewis passed away in 1991.

Doris possessed a fierce determination that inspired others.  As a single mother of three small children and working two jobs, she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern New Mexico University.  For over 27 years, she was a public-school teacher in Levelland, TX and in New Mexico.  She continued her education and received her master's degree from Texas Tech University.  After retiring from teaching, she worked in the mortgage industry in Killeen, TX.  She was devoted to her family.  She enjoyed riding her Honda Trike.  She is remembered for her smile and her laughter, radiating joy and happiness wherever she went.

Her survivors are her sister: Dr. Marilyn (Harold) Phelan; her children: Deborah A Huddleston and Daniel (Judy) Lewis III; her grandchildren: Devin (Crescent) Lewis, Michael (Ashley) Huddleston, Danielle (Diego) Lewis-Sotelo, Hunter Lewis, and Hayden Lewis.  She has four great grandchildren: Rylee Lewis, Raynee Lewis, Houston Huddleston, and Califia Huddleston.
