A memorial service for Mr. De'Tavius Kentrell Smith 26 of Killeen, TX will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars located at - 301 Wolf St, Killeen, TX 76541. Burial with military honors will be held Monday, May 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

De'Tavius Kentrell Smith was born on November 13, 1997, in Monroe, Louisiana. He was welcomed into heaven on April 17, 2024, in Fort Cavazos, Texas. He leaves behind his wife Mackenzie Smith and two adoring children: Allena and De'Tavius Jr. He is also survived by his loving father, Derrick Smith, his mother April Singleton, and his siblings Jazmyne, DeSean, Talija, Arat "Mike", and Jade.

De'Tavius dedicated six years of his life to the United States Army while stationed at Fort Cavazos, Texas and included one tour in Iraq. Although a soldier, he was better defined in life by his impact in the lives around him. As an amazing brother and friend who would do anything for those he loved. As a patient and understanding husband, bringing so much knowledge and joy to the home. As a kind and dedicated father who spent every day caring for his children, he instilled strength, bravery, and compassion in them. He spread his love of anime, music, and culinary adventurism to all. De'Tavius believed in not looking back on the past but rather basking in each moment and living life to the fullest.

De'Tavius was a kind and beautiful soul that focused his life easing the pain of those around him and protecting those he loved and cherished. He is preceded in death by his best friend and brother, Jama Dolan. He is missed beyond measure and will forever be cherished in our hearts and minds.
