Obituary

A service or remembrance for David Lee Morris will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 10am at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542.

Mr. Morris, age 75, passed away Friday June 21, 2024, at the VA Hospital. He was born September 18, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The son of Arthur Russell Morris and Mary Bernice Doane (Morris).

David served with the United States Army in Vietnam where he received the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Sixty Device. After the war he served as a mailman and retired.

David and Carol celebrated 42 years of marriage. David was a member of the VFW Post 8577. Super Dave was very well known for all his antics and talks about his next money-making venture. He never met a stranger and always opened his home up to those in need. His favorite time of year was summer as they were always a time for family and camping trips. David really enjoyed singing karaoke (especially The Gambler) and shooting pool at the VFW. The love for his family, especially his grandchildren, is what he will truly be remembered for.

David was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Carol and his brother Arthur.

Surviving him are his son David Lee Morris Jr., daughter Denise Longmire (Morris), son Ricky Lee Morris, daughter Nancy Bernice Morris, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers John Leslie Morris, Robert Wayne Morris, William Travis Morris, Mark Stevenson Morris and other family and friends.
