CW2 Deontre Trevon Huey

Funeral service for CW2 Deontre Trevon Huey, 34 of Copperas Cove, TX will be held Monday, August 31, 2026, 10:00 a.m. at Pershing Park Baptist Church in Killeen, TX. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow the service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX at 12:00 p.m. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.) at the church.

CW2 Deontre T. Huey (Tre) was born April 5, 1992, to Velvet Dancer-Huey and Douglas Huey in Killeen TX. He joined our heavenly father on August 12, 2026, doing what he loved, FLYING. While Deontre had a great passion for his home state of Texas, his love for Killeen was shown through his love for drawing, football, family, and friends. He graduated from Killeen High and displayed his love of being a Roo on the football field. He was especially known for his leadership on and off the field. Deontre was such an advent drawer that he would display his love for his family with drawings on his mother’s walls. The way he made any canvas he met come alive displayed his natural talent in such an amazing way. He was not only an amazing man, he was a loving son, brother, and father.

After high school, he attended Temple College and Oklahoma Panhandle in pursuit of higher education. In 2014, Deontre joined the military as an 88M transportation operator. He served at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) Washington from 2014-2017, Fort Bragg, NC, from 2017-2019, and Fort Hood to present. Deontre decided he wanted to take his military career in a different direction and submitted for Warrant Officer school. Upon his completion of the academy, he submitted his packet requesting to become a pilot for the Army. Upon his completion of training, Deontre found his love for flying aircrafts for the military. His conversation was so infectious whenever he spoke of his job. Whenever Deontre told anyone about what he did for the military, we all could feel his excitement and passion for his new career by the way his eyes would light up. While we feel he is gone too soon, we are proud to know he was doing what he loved. Deontre will live on in everyone he encountered.

He leaves to mourn him: his two children, Naomi Victoria and Ezekeial Titus of Houston, TX; mother, Velvet Dancer Huey of Killeen, TX; father, Douglas Huey of Killeen, TX; brothers, Airman Keith Huey of Hawaii, Airman Kysean Huey of North Dakota, Damarion of San Marcos, Texas State, Preston Anderson, Jayden Huey, and Giovanni Huey; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended family, and friends.
