Cleveland Douglas
Hurst
Jul 23, 1956 — Nov 1, 2021
San Antonio
Memorial service for Mr. Cleveland Douglas Hurst, 65 of San Antonio, TX will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX.
He was born July 23, 1956 in Louisville, LA.
On Monday, November 1, 2021, the Hurst family lost our loved one Cleveland Douglas Hurst unexpectantly. He was a driven business man who was always looking and thinking of his next opportunity.
To know him was to know his free spirit, his drive for life, independence and desire to give back. Cleveland was always thinking of what he could do for those less fortunate. He worked beside his sister Myrtle to start a non-profit to feed and clothe the homeless in San Antonio. This drive to help others led him to become an Ordained Minister to spread the word to all who would listen. He was a member of New Creations Church in San Antonio TX.
Cleveland was born in Louisville Louisiana on July 23, 1956 to Bertha and George Hurst. He is preceded in death by his mother Bertha (Patterson) Hurst, father George Hurst, and brother George E. Hurst. He is survived by his daughter Debra Rice-Randolph, grandchildren Antwan Rice, Dyon Randolph and great grandson Amir Jackson, sister Myrtle Brown, brothers Simon Hurst and Glenn Hurst, host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. His tireless love and devotion to his family were evident through out his life.
Please join us in helping him finish his last project of giving. In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate a coat to homeless shelter near you in his name.
Thank you all. ~The Family
