Funeral services with military honors for Ms. Brenda Joy Woods, 65 of Killeen, TX will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX. Inurnment will be held Tuesday December 13, 2022, 9:00 a.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.

Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) at the funeral home.

Ms. Woods passed away December 5, 2022, in Killeen, TX.

Brenda Joy Woods was born October 9th, 1957, in Hughes, Arkansas, to parents Ruth Walker and Charlie Woods. Her family relocated to Venice, Illinois where she graduated from Venice High School in 1975. After graduation she enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 18, as a Supply Specialist. Her first duty location was Ft. Hood, Texas. After honorably serving her country she made Killeen, Texas her home for the last 43 years.

After her military career came to an end, she completed 16 years of Federal Employment, working for the Civil Service, Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, and the Internal Revenue Service.

In her free time, she loved to play bingo, cooking, and showcasing her "green thumb" ability to grow healthy plants. Over the years she developed longing standing relationships and connections throughout Killeen. Her impact was felt in many people lives by helping secure jobs and taking care loved ones in need, highlighting her big heart. She always had a giving spirit to everyone she encountered and treated everyone as family. One thing about Ms. Woods, she meant what she said and said what she meant.

Left to cherish her memories: Mother, Ruth Walker of Madison, Illinois; Brothers, Charles A. Caldwell of Columbus, Ohio; Kenneth Walker of Houston, Texas; Sister, Stephanie A. Goforth of Madison, Illinois. Children; Caton E. Woods of Columbus, Ohio; Michael J. Woods (Spouse: Katarra Woods) of Killeen, Texas; Steven C. Woods of Killeen, Texas; Shermanie M. Pipkins (Spouse: Karl Pipkins) of Austin, TX; Richard J. Woods (Spouse: Shakela Woods) of Shreveport, Louisiana. Five grandchildren; Lanya, Ariel, Micaiah, Richard Jr, and Michael Jr.

She was preceded in death by her father Charlie Woods, stepfather Clifton Walker, brothers Crafton Walker, Leon Walker and significant other James Hawthrone.
