Memorial service for Mrs. Betty Jean Bluefer 73, of Killeen, Texas will be held Monday July 26, 2021, 6:00 p.m. at Comanche Chapel in Fort Hood, TX. Interment will be held Thursday, July 29, 2021, 2:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.

Mrs. Bluefer passed away July 5, 2021.

Betty Jean Bluefer, the daughter of Robert and Edna Caperton, was born May 15, 1948 in Brinkley Arkansas. She was raised and educated in the local public schools.

Betty was saved at an early age and continuously served her Lord and Savior. In recent years, she served as an Usher at the Comanche Chapel, Fort Hood, Texas. She was a faithful servant and she loved to serve.

On June 27, 1965, married Johnnie Bril Bluefer, a Soldier in the United States Army. To their union, two sons were born, Roderick and Johnny "Andre." As a military wife, she traveled to many states, Europe and other countries.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Betty had a very generous heart, was a great listener and prayer warrior. She was a true and faithful friend. Her word was her bond. Betty was a fun, loving and caring person. She did not meet any strangers and would feed anybody. She was especially known for her sweet potato pie. She loved people and she adored greeting and making others feel welcomed. She now welcomes others in heaven with a great big smile.

Left to cherish her memory is her son Johnny "Andre" Bluefer; her sister, Mattie McDonald (Leo) of Battle Creek, Michigan; her Grandchildren: Latrina Bluefer and Jaden Bluefer and her special godchild, Neihema; a host of nephews and nieces and other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband; her elder son, Roderick L. Bluefer; her parents; and two brothers, Lavester Caperton and Robert Caperton Jr.
