Betty Virginia Berryman was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on August 17, 1931. She passed away August 14, 2024, in Copperas Cove, TX. She accepted the Lord Jesus as her savior at an early age. She graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1949. Upon graduation, she married her high school sweetheart and from that union had nine children. Betty worked for various employers throughout her life, including Mainland Hospital in Pomona, New Jersey for over twenty years and Atlantic County Child Support Services.

In April 1995, Betty relocated to Copperas Cove, Texas, to be closer to family, with whom she enjoyed spending holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite times of the year. In her spare time, Betty found joy in volunteering. She served as a volunteer at Metroplex Hospital for numerous years, working as a greeter in Patient Services and as a youth sponsor with the Lions/Leo's Club of Killeen, TX.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Marcia Johnson (Eric) of Copperas Cove, TX; sons, Rodney Johnson (Vicky) of Copperas Cove, TX, David Johnson of Rockwall, TX and Bruce Johnson (Stella) of Absecon, New Jersey. Betty maintained a special relationship with her niece, Mara Swain; nephew, William Berryman; grand/great-grandchildren; and close friends Shirley Buster and William Kate throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary; sister, Rebecca Swain; brother, Henry; daughter, Gwen Wilson; and sons Michael Johnson, Herman Eugene Johnson III, Steven Johnson, Craig Johnson, and friend Luther "Pete" Davis.

She will be remembered as a devoted mother, mom-mom, aunt, and friend.
